It started as a small initiative by a few enthusiasts, and it grew to a solid tradition. Small-scale family farmers from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and Ukraine gather every year in Druskininkai to display a wide range of unique and delicious handmade cheeses at the annual Cheese Festival!
Celebrate this ancient and traditional craft, enjoy some truly distinguished flavours, and let new culinary adventures begin! In 2019, the festival includes tasting sessions, workshops for kids, a farmers’ s fair, and a cheese contest. The jury of 8 experts will select the Grand Prix. The winner will travel to the international small-scale cheese festival Cheese 2019, which will take place in Bra, Italy. The invitation comes from Italian ‘Slow Food’ association.
The small-scale cheesemakers’ movement is growing fast and wants to share the real food experience with you! Find more information here.
